USWRA SuperCourse
National Championships
TeamSport Racing
Belton Lake, TX
September
11th & 12th - Region
5
“SuperCourse”
racing, as designed by TeamSport Racing, is a new and
exciting form of watercraft racing that is intended to
resemble the fast-paced sport of motorcycle road racing.
“The larger and more powerful watercraft of today much
more resemble a road bike, than a dirt bike” says
TeamSport Racing director Marty Roberts “and therefore
deserve a race track that fits that profile”. Weighing
over 600 and some as much as 900 pounds, a race-ready
watercraft is capable of creating over 260 horsepower,
and speeds in excess of 70 mph.
A
typical SuperCourse track incorporates the same fast,
sweeping turns that you would see at road tracks such as
Daytona or Willow Springs. In fact, TeamSport Racing
gets inspiration for their SuperCourse track designs
from these and other famous road tracks. Over 50 buoys
may be used on the water to accurately create the
sweeping turns and chicanes that make up a SuperCourse
track.
“Our typical track will
be approximately two miles in length for one lap,”
said Roberts. “We can race over 30 watercraft on a
course this size, which makes for some good racing.”
According to Roberts, the highly defined courses allow
for more options to pass, with an emphasis on speed and
strategy.
The 2004 USWRA
SuperCourse National Championships will feature top pro
and amateur endurance racers from across the country as
several National Champions will be crowned. Racers
compete over 40 minutes with an additional two laps
after.
The format will a Moto
scoring system. Moto 1 will be on Saturday and Moto 2 on
Sunday. The combined score of both Saturday and Sunday
results will be totaled for an overall finish and
National placement for the first ever SuperCourse
Championships. See photo's from the 2003 National
Endurance race. photos
Can
anybody beat Michael Younts? Michael Younts from
Beeville, Texas was
TeamSport's Racing 2003 Overall and 2003 National Pro-Am Runabout 1200
Superstock Champion. Michael has been unstoppable
for the past 2 years winning every race he's competed
in. Michael will again be highly
favored to win this year's 2004 USWRA SuperCourse
National Championships. Don't miss this year's
SuperCourse Nationals and you will see if Michael Younts
winning streak continues.

WHY
I PROMOTE JET SKI RACES
Race Number 4 was the final race on Saturday, the
first day of a two-round weekend of racing at Lake
Somerville, Texas, and the last weekend for the Texas
Aquamoto Series. It was the Pro-Am Superstock race. Fifty minutes plus two laps on a 1-3/4 mile SuperCourse
track. Over
twenty boats squeezed onto the starting line.
After an excitingly fast start, the top racers had soon
made their way up to the front of the pack, swapping
positions as they all tried to get to that elusive Lead
Position. more |

# 4 from the “Corona Extra” European Tour 2004 -
August 20-21-22 - “All you need to know about Dinant”
- How can you explain the race of Dinant? - The city
of Dinant is one of the touristy places in Belgium, a
small town in the valley of the Meuse River, with lots
of cafés and restaurants along the water’s edge. The
course is in downtown Dinant and is probably one of the
hardest races in the world. If you have ever raced
there, you will know what I mean, and only great
champions can win there! more |

<07/28/04>
The
USWRA Closed Course Top100 has recently been
updated. With the season winding down for most
regions and World Finals only 65 days away, the 2004
season is slowly coming to an end. Many USWRA
Top100 rankings are becoming a tight points battle for
the top spots for many different classes. For many
riders across the country they may only have 1 race on
the 2004 schedule left to increase their 2004 USWRA
Top100 Ranking. And for many riders, that final
race of the season will have a 1.5x normal points for a
chance to
increase their rankings as well. In Region 3, on
Sept. 18th & 19th the Washington State Championships
in Howard Amon Park, Richland, Washington will have 1.5x
points awarded. In Region 6, the 2nd stop of the
USWRA Triple Crown Challenge on Aug. 8th in Muskegon,
Michigan will have 1.5x points awarded. In Region
9, the 3rd and final stop of the USWRA Triple Crown
Challenge on Sept. 5th, at Pleasant Hill, Iowa will have
1.5x points awarded. For
the World Finals in October, the USWRA will be awarding
2.0x (double) points for all USWRA riders who qualify
and participate. Note: We also have
decided to take the rider's top 6 rounds in points in
determining their respective USWRA Top100 ranking.
For a few riders in Region 3, they had accumulated 10
rounds of points. I knocked down their points to
their best 6 rounds to bring their respective points
total down in line with the other Regions. Many
other Regions across the country have Round 6 in their
2004 season coming up next. Top100

6 News - The U.S. Grand National Watercross
Championships Round 1 - 2 Lakeview, Ohio Race Recap is
now online. LAKEVIEW,
OHIO
-
What a difference a year makes.
Just a year ago the weather dealt us freezing
cold temperatures, with a blistering wind.
This year on both Saturday and Sunday we had 86
degree temperatures, with 15-20 mph winds all weekend
long.
The winds made for some difficult race conditions
for the riders as they had to deal with choppy waters
all weekend long.
But the racing was just phenomenal for the 1st
race weekend of the year. more |
