Off in 2005
With
typical April weather ranging from
sunny and 70 degrees to a brief
but strong storm and stiff spring
breezes, Watersport Productions
kicked off the 2005 Racing
Season. Turnout was
excellent with great racing
action. Participants
traveled from as far away as
Canada, Michigan, upstate New
York, New Hampshire, Pittsburgh, as
well as the usual Mid-Atlantic
"local" origins.
Highlight riders who reigned
supreme were Jim Moyer who was the
Top Overall Finisher both days of
Supercourse Racing on his Hot Rod
sounding Sea-Doo RXP. Ronnie
"Not too Tall" Walker
showed the Ski Class the quick
line around the Supercourse.
Beshka Morelli returned from
Maternity leave to out distance
Tiffany Guiliano in Women's
Supercourse. In Team Racing,
Bill Beneker needed two teammates
throughout the weekend. Bill
is older then his combined
teammates. Todd Schaefer
made the most trips to the payout
window winning several
classes. The newly
implemented Junior Class made it's
debut and what a show they put
on! With their parents
beaming with pride, they displayed
sportsmanship and skill beyond
their years. They rode like
Champions they are destined to
be. As a group they single
handedly made the future of our
sport look bright. For these
reasons this writer believes they
deserve the largest ovation.

Region
8's Watersport Productions reached
the middle of it's 2005 Season the
weekend of June 18th & 19th on
the beaches of Wildwood, New
Jersey and wild it turned out to
be. The town had a Fireworks
Show Friday Night that had the
early birds arriving under the
Rockets Red Glare. Adding to
the excitement was the short walk
to one of the largest Boardwalks
and it's many amusements, you got
to believe this was going to be an
awesome place to have a
Watercross!
The first day started innocent
enough with clear skies and light
winds. The weather was
perfect for the races and the
cookout afterwards that Watersport
Productions provided. Then
somebody had to ask for some
choppier surf. Mother nature
obliged with a stiff wind out of
the northeast for Sunday.
The resulting Surf challenged
everyone's negotiating
skills. Everybody except
Rudy Rinderer from nearby
Bayville, New Jersey who is no
stranger to these
conditions. Rudy put his
experience to good use and won the
Supercourse Overall both days
claiming the bonus money and the
Riva Bucks that went with
it. This also ended Jim
Moyer's win streak at four
overalls. Hats off to Jim
and his crew who always have a
long ride from Pittsburgh, PA to
these coastal Region Events.
Not only do they arrive with a
smile but Pittsburgh Watercraft
also donated Primo Slippery
Gearbags to raffle. Thanks
Guys!
