The Jet Jam racing series is blasting into 2005 with a host of changes to benefit the hundreds of PWC racers that have made these two day races on Lake Havasu home. Although returning to Crazyhorse Resort and RV Park for the fourth year, the racers will find welcome at the brand new “Jet Jam Aquatic Stadium” currently under construction. This new and purpose built race site will feature nearly 1,000 feet of protected pit beach located in a previously unused cove.
It was announced today by series founders, Dan and Tim Gewecke of Bullett Racing, that they have entered into a relationship with DSM Events to produce this six race series henceforth. Jim Russell, president of DSM Events said that “it is truly an honor for us to have been selected by Bullett to assume the stewardship of their races. It is a logical progression, given our close ties to the sport, racers, and Lake Havasu City. We hope to live up to the standards set by Tim and Dan, and their continued service as consultants and directors of the enterprise will assure that we do”.
DSM Events is a Havasu based event production firm which has produced sixty one motorsports events during the past eleven years, in three states and two countries. These have ranged from street rod shows, to stadium style off-road races, monster truck shows, and automotive swap meets. Most importantly they partnered with the IJSBA as the producers of the 2003 World Finals, and were a major contractor to IMG for the 2004 World Finals.
Russell further said to look for them to add the “Fabulous Fifties” mini motorcycle grand prix (DSM produced the mini-motorcycle races at the past two World Finals) to the bill of fun at the Jet Jams. In addition they plan to launch an inaugural recreational weekend featuring the “ Jet Jam Run for the Sun” Poker Run later in the year, made possible by the Lake Havasu Convention and Visitors Bureau.
New this year will be the “Walt’s Motorsports Points Fund” for Pro-Am riders who compete in the entire series. At the end of the season the overall winners in these classes will receive cash prizes and awards.
